Other TMJ Therapy

Possible Therapy Adjuncts

As previously stated, there are times where splint therapy alone will not accomplish all that we would like. In those cases, it may be necessary to supplement treatment with other adjunctive therapy such as:

  1. Physical therapy
  2. Muscle-relaxing medication and/or anti-inflammatory drug therapy
  3. Biofeedback therapy

In summary

Jaw joint dysfunction treatment is complex and individual. A successful treatment is designed for each individual patient. The design takes the form of careful analysis and production of a splint using every possible piece of information available. If you have additional questions you may e-mail Dr. Nelson.
