Meet Dr. Seth Briggs
Dr. Briggs grew up in Johnstown, Colorado, a small town in northern Colorado. He attended college at New Mexico State University where he studied microbiology and was a four year Track & Field athlete and scholarship recipient. He attended Creighton University School of Dentistry where he had the honor of being elected class president and sat on multiple student leadership committees.
After graduation from Creighton, Dr. Briggs received his commission into the United States Air Force and entered a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency finishing at the top of his class.
His first assignment with the Air Force was at Vandenberg AFB, CA where he served as an advanced clinical dentist. While at Vandenberg Dr. Briggs was recognized with multiple awards including Officer of the Year in 2004 and Junior Clinical Dentist of the Year in 2005.
In 2007, Dr. Briggs' ultimate professional goal was realized when he was selected for orthodontic training at the Tri-Service Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. While in training, Dr. Briggs' graduate research project centered around the post-surgery outcomes of surgical upper jaw expansion in adults and specifically its improvement on nasal airflow; this treatment modality continues to be an area of interest for Dr. Briggs today.
After completing his orthodontic specialty training he was transferred to Spangdahlem Air Base in southwest Germany where he had the honor of treating our military men and women and their family members. His practice encompassed the full range of adolescent and adult orthodontic treatment including a robust orthognathic surgery component. While at Spangdahlem he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.
After 10 years of active military service Dr. Briggs, his wife Allyson, and his children Benjamin and Delaney, have decided to enter civilian life and settle down here in Austin. They are looking forward to the Texas sun and enjoy all things outdoors. They can be found mountain biking, running, swimming, and camping. Dr. Briggs can also sometimes be found on the sidelines coaching youth soccer and basketball.
