The upper front teeth should overlap the lower front teeth 20-25% of the length of the lower teeth. A deep bite usually results in accelerated tooth wear, crowding, delayed eruption of permanent teeth and misalignment.

A deep bite is corrected in the normal course of orthodontic treatment.
